BizCardReader 300G/600C/900C scanner driver installation

The installation CD is needed to install the USB drivers 
for the BizCardReader scanners.

WEB DOWNLOAD
If you downloaded the driver from the web, the required files will 
be copied by default to C:\TEMP\Driver900C (or Driver300G/600C).
Note this driver folder.

FIRST TIME INSTALLATION (Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/Vista)
------------------------------------------------------
Before installing the scanner driver, you should log on to Windows as
Administrator to ensure that you have sufficient privilege to
install the driver.

Installation Procedure for Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/Vista
1. Insert the driver disk/CD into the disk/CD ROM drive. 
2. Plug the Scanner into the system's USB port.
3. The system will indicate that a new scanner 
   hardware has been found. Press "Next" to continue.
4. Select "Search for the best driver (recommended)..." and click Next.
5. If prompted to specify a location for the driver search, 
   select by checking the box for the CD ROM,
   and/or specify the folder where driver files may be found.
6. Follow the on screen instructions and continue the
   installation procedure to completion.


UPDATING THE SCANNER DRIVER (Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/Vista)

If an older copy of the driver is already installed, you can 
start the Windows driver update wizard for the scanner as follows:
a. Plug in the scanner into the USB port.
b. Click on Start in the Windows Task bar and open the Control Panel.
c. In Control Panel, double click on the 
   System icon (in System and Maintainence).
   
   For Widows 2000/XP, click on Hardware tab --> 
     Device Manager --> Imaging Devices --> BizCardReader.

   For Windows Vista, click on Device Manager -->
     Imaging Device --> BizCardReader.

   For Windows 98/Me, click on Device Manager tab -->
     Imaging Device --> BizCardReader.
   
d. Select (right-click) Properties-->Driver tab --> Update Driver. 
e. Follow the instructions from the driver wizard. When needed,     
   specify the driver location, which is the CD ROM,
   or specify the folder where driver files may be found.


TROUBLESHOOTING THE SCANNER
-------------------------------
If the scanner will not scan after you install the driver, you should try 
to re-install it. The following procedure describes how this can be done.

1. Unplug the USB cable from the scanner for a few seconds and then plug it back in.
2. If a message indicating that a new device is found, and Windows is searching 
for the driver, then follow the steps described above to install the scanner driver. 
Otherwise, follow the procedure described above to open the Control panel 
and update the driver.

Conflict with other USB devices
-------------------------------
Some problems are due to conflicts with other devices on the USB. To resolve this, 
disconnect all other devices (and/or hubs), and plug the card scanner 
directly into the USB port of the computer.
