Congratulations on your purchase of the wireless smart Office keyboard and mouse kit! This keyboard and mouse kit will finally free you of the constraints of your desktop by providing a wireless connection between the keyboard or mouse and your PC. Pass around the keyboard or mouse during meetings without having to bother about a cable blocking your way or write e-mails and surf the Internet from the comfort of your living room couch! The wireless smart Office keyboard and mouse kit consists of a keyboard, a mouse and a receiver. The whole keyboard is divided into 6 blocks except the normal keyboard function block. The 6 blocks are Office Application Keys Block, Enhanced Function Keys Block, Internet Keys Block, Application Keys Block, Multimedia Keys Block and Clipboard Keys Block.  These 6 blocks make your keyboard more powerful than ever.  The applications and functions you use everyday are included in these blocks.  Just by a touch can access to your application immediately.  It helps a lot in your daily usage. Beside, the wireless mouse uses an optical sensor instead of mouse ball. The precise sensor detects motion on hundreds of surfaces, including wood, plastic, or even your pants leg, and prevents you from the interference caused by dust.

The most creative design of this Smart Office keyboard is to use the build-in Office & clipboard hot keys, and the scroll wheel on the keyboard to help you saving hands-movement between keyboard and mouse and this save your time.  We want to make your typing time more fast, comfortable and joyful.

This Smart Office Keyboard is compatible with Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows2000 or Windows XP.

Installation

In order to make the Smart Office keyboard function properly, first install the build-in Windows USB device drivers, and then install the Smart Office Keyboard Software.

The USB device driver is included in Windows system.

When the first time you plug in the USB keyboard, the system will automatically detect a new hardware connected and then bring up the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialogue box. Please follow the Wizard's USB driver installation steps. Once this installation step is completed the basic functions of the keyboard will work under the operating system. You may toggle the NumLock or CapsLock key to see if the LED is lit correspondently, and thus to know the keyboard works well.

  1. Remove any existed keyboard driver first.

  2. Insert the driver disc labeled Smart Office Keyboard Driver in your computer CD-ROM drive.

  3. Select “Install Memorex RF7000 Wireless EZ Touch Keyboard”.

  4. Follow the on screen instructions to finish the installation procedure. 

Uninstallation

Please note that you have to uninstall the driver first if you want to re-install the driver.

  1. Right-click the driver icon and select "Exit" command to exit the driver program.

  2. Click "Start" menu (on the left-bottom taskbar).

  3. Move cursor to "Programs" in "Start" menu.

  4. Move cursor again to "KeyMaestro".

  5. Select "Uninstallation".

  6. Click on the "Remove Program" icon. 

  7. Click "Yes" to confirm you want to uninstall.

Battery Low & LED Indication

When keyboard batteries are low, the battery low icon will show on the right-bottom corner on the Windows taskbar. 

When mouse batteries are low, the battery low icon will show on the right-bottom corner on the Windows taskbar.

The icons will disappear when you change the batteries.

Hot Key Blocks Feature

Word opens Microsoft Word.
Excel opens Microsoft Excel.
PowerPoint opens Microsoft PowerPoint.
Calendar opens "Calendar" function of Microsoft Outlook Express.
back.gif (1147 bytes) Back returns to the last page you viewed.
forward.gif (1139 bytes) Forward views the next page you viewed before.
stop.gif (134 bytes) Stop If a page you are trying to view is taking too long to open, click this button to stop.
refresh.gif (3020 bytes) Refresh refreshes the current Web page in order to make sure you have the latest Web page.
www.gif (209 bytes) WWW opens the default Internet browser.
search.gif (149 bytes) Search opens the Internet search menu.
favorite.gif (1419 bytes) My Favorite opens the Internet "My Favorite" folder.
email.gif (1548 bytes) E-mail opens the default program you use for mail.
computer.gif (1517 bytes) My Computer opens "My Computer".
calculator.gif (2129 bytes) Calculator starts Microsoft calculator.
Log Off Log Off opens the log off windows dialog box.
sleep.gif (1057 bytes) Sleep places the computer in Sleep Mode.
power.gif (2116 bytes) Power turns the computer off.

Note: If "Log Off" key function does not work properly, please refer to "Troubleshooting" for more information.

mute.gif (2462 bytes) Mute mutes the sound.
volup.gif (2782 bytes) Volume up adjusts the volume up.
voldown.gif (2814 bytes) Volume down adjusts the volume down.
stop-meida.gif (65 bytes) Stop stops the playing.
prev.gif (2190 bytes) Previous skips backward to the previous file/track when pressing once.
next.gif (2272 bytes) Next skips forward to the next file/track when pressing once.
play.gif (1610 bytes) Play/Pause When the CD or Video is playing, press this button to pause it, and press the button again to resume it from the current position.

Enhanced function keys block consists of 12 enhanced Office function keys, they share with the keys of F1~F12 for 12 keys block. This duel function block is toggled by pressing the key of Office Wizard. When Office Wizard LED is on, the enhanced Office function of the 12 keys are activated.

F1: Help opens the Help file for the active window.
F2: New creates a new, blank file in program.

Note: In Spanish, Portuguese and Brazil Windows, F2 function is designed for "Bold".

F3: Open opens or finds a file in program.
F4: Save saves the active file with current file name, location and file format.
F5: Replace searches for and replaces the specified text and formatting.
F6: Spell starts the spelling-check program in the active document.
F7: Undo reverses the last command or deletes the last entry you typed or action.
F8: Redo reverses the action of the Undo command.
F9: Reply replies to the e-mail in Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express.
F10: Reply All replies the e-mail to all in Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express.
F11: Forward forwards the e-mail in Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express.
F12: Send sends out the e-mail in Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express.
Prt scr/Sys: Print prints the file in the active window.
Num lock: € Euro sign key. Make sure the LED of both "Office Wizard" and "num lock" are on. The € Euro sign only works when both of the Office Wizard and Num Lock are activated.

Note: Microsoft Windows operating system and applications must support different languages for different countries; it limits the functions of embedded office keys. So, some enhanced functions are only for target language usage. The descriptions of the enhanced office keys’ functions are for reference and may not reflect your keyboard exactly.

Scroll Wheel

1. works as mouse scrolling function in 2 direction - up and down. You can use the up and down functions of Scroll Wheel to scroll the document vertically.

2. works as a mouse button. When you push on the scroll wheel, a series functions dialogue will pop-up. Their functions are divided into 3 parts.

  • Works as “Internet keys” or “Multimedia keys”. You can customize the push button as one of these functions.

  • Works as Scroll Up/Down, Volume Up/Down, WWW Back/Forward or Previous/Next Track. If you customize the push button as one of these functions, you only have to use the wheel to control these functions.

  • Works as “Configure” function. Please refer to the description of the "Smart Office Keyboard Driver" for more information. Please note that you can disable the re-programmable function of Scroll Wheel. The way to disable the re-programmable function is to press the scroll wheelclick on Configure in the dialogue boxclick on Functions, and select None. After this, Scroll Wheel works as mouse scroll function only and do not work whenever you press it.

cut.gif (2505 bytes) Cut removes the selection from the active documents.
copy.gif (1584 bytes) Copy copies the selection to the clipboard.
paste.gif (1585 bytes) Paste pastes the previously cut or copied items from the clipboard.
mark.gif (2535 bytes) Mark presses on the mark key once and use the up, down, right and left direction keys to select items. Press the ESC key or any other keys except the mark, up, down, right, left, home, end, page up or page down key, the mark function can be released. Please note that this key only works in applications with clipboard function, e.g. Word, Excel and etc..
APP. Application Switch switches the focus to the previous opened windows when you press the key and chooses the right one as the active window. The function is the same as "Alt + Tab".
Close Close closes the active Windows application.

Smart Office Keyboard Driver

Use left-click of the mouse on the Smart Office Keyboard Driver icon on the taskbar, a "KeyMaestro" dialogue box will pop up with the following functions.

 

Click on this command, a customization dialogue box will pop up with following functions. 

1. Select a HotKey

This function contains the default function of a key. You can click on the "Display Label" to re-define the key functions. When you click it, a Configure Button box will appear.
 
*  Label

In the "Button Label" box, type the name of application that the button will launch, or any name that will help you remember the function of the button. This label will appear on screen each time you press the button.

 
*  Functions

You can see a list of pre-defined functions and set one of it for the button.

*  Launch Application or Website

Type in the path to an often used application or click the Browse button to select any file on your computer. If you want to attach a web page to the button, just simply type in the website address in the dialogue box.

* Combination Key

In many Windows application, there are many hot keys to execute some often used commands. Some of the hot keys are combined with two keys pressed simultaneously, and some are three. It is not easy to press and to remember those hot keys. Now you can define those complicated hot keys you always forgot. Any kind of combination is available. For example,
[Alt] + [F4] = close window,
[Ctrl] + [A] = select all.

* String

You may define the button as a string of texts which needs to be input often. The maximum characters are 500. Taking good advantages of this function can save much your text input time and makes your works more efficient.

2. Enable Display Label

This command is to show or hide the OSD (On Screen Display). When the OSD is enabled, each time you press any one of the multimedia buttons, its function name (button label) will show on the right-bottom corner on the screen. The default of this function is enabled.

3. Enable Taskbar Icon

This command is to show or hide the taskbar driver icon. When the function is enabled, you can see a driver icon its function name (button label) will show on the right-bottom corner of the screen. If you want to reload it again, you can select Start => Program => Configure to launch it. The default of this function is enabled.

4. Enable Auto Play

This command is to show or hide the auto play function. When the function is enabled, the Microsoft media play will show on the screen after you press the “Play” key of the multimedia keys. For Winamp user, you can use the multimedia keys to control the Winamp function after you call out the Winamp and disable the Auto play function. The default of this function is enabled.

Troubleshooting

If you are experiencing problems with your keyboard, please check the following:

1. Keyboard & Mouse do not work properly

9. The "Log Off" key does not work:

Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 are not support Log Off function.

The default of Log Off function must be enabled in your Windows operating system before you use the Log Off key. The way to enable the Log Off function is to open the Windows Start Menu→Setting→Control Panel→Taskbar & Start Menu→Taskbar & Start Menu Properties Menu→Advanced→Settings, then choose the "Display Logoff" item and click OK to complete enable the Log Off function.
